All candidates are thoroughly checked to ensure the safety of the children that we teach. We set out each step below to guide you through the application process.

Study the safeguarding statement, job description and person specification carefully.

The most important thing is to show that you have the skills, knowledge and experience set out in the person specification.

Think carefully about your past work experience and the skills you gained. Remember that voluntary work can be just as valuable as paid employment.

When completing the form, do a rough draft first and check that any dates are correct and in the right order.

Ensure that all sections have been completed.If you are not selected for interview; please don’t be put off from making further applications.

Many applicants make several attempts before achieving success.

Please note we do not provide feedback at the shortlisting for interview stage. If selected for interview, you will be sent details of the time and place.

Job Description

Title: Mindset Mentor Partner or Mindset Mentor Assistant

MiniMe Mindfulness® are an award winning national franchise which helps children to thrive by teaching positive mindfulness and mindset techniques in a fun and innovative way to primary school aged children in various settings such as schools, nurseries and the community.

If you are completing this process it is likely that the franchise area that you are looking to work with is expanding it's services. Please note that these roles are SELF EMPLOYED (unless stated to the contrary). The Checks and Training need to be completed satisfactorily before any formal offers will be made. This is to ensure that the Mindset Mentors follow the safer recruitment process AND are able to represent our award winning brand as expected.

The role of Mindset Mentor has 2 levels of responsibility.

A Mindset Mentor Partner works independently to plan and deliver the MiniMe Mindfulness® sessions in schools, nurseries and in the community.

Responsibilities include setting up venues for classes to run (which could include moving tables/chairs), ensuring health and safety measures are upheld, managing registers and keeping children safe. Then following the MiniMe Mindfulness® Lesson plans to teach and inspire the classes that you run. Plus building relationships with parents/carers and teachers as appropriate as we deliver the courses.

To become a Mindset Mentor Partner you will need to complete the MiniMe Mindfulness® Training Programme - including, but not limited, to:

Kids Mindfulness Teacher Training (accredited by CPD & IMMA)

Safeguarding Level 2

Basic First Aid

Data Protection / GDPR

Mental Health Awareness

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Managing Challenging Behaviour

Upon successful completion you will receive your MiniMe Mindfulness® Accreditation Certificate BEFORE commencing your role.

A payment of £105.60* to cover the HR Checks is required upon accepting the provisional offer, subject to satisfactory Enhance DBS, referencing and satisfactorily completing the training and sign-off process.

If you are currently on the EDBS Electronic Update Service please let us know as we can utilise this and it will reduce the time and cost in applying for new Enhanced DBS. References are still required.

A contribution of $40* per month towards the training costs of online courses until training is complete and Accreditation Certificate has been issued. We anticipate maximum 2 months. This is paid by you direct online and must be cancelled by you when you have completed your training - otherwise the payment will continue and no refunds are given.

Mindset Mentor Partners must be willing to study and learn new skills via our training program - including and not limited to Kids Mindfulness Teacher Training plus online health & safety, safeguarding and first aid courses.

A Mindset Mentor Assistant supports the Mindset Mentor Partner in ensuring that the classes run effectively and the staffing ratios are met.

Training is less than for the Mindset Mentor Partner as you are not going to be leading the teaching or lone working with children. You will be supporting a Mindset Mentor Partner and/or Mindset Mentor Franchisee.

The cost of the HR Checks is £70* is to be covered by the Mindset Mentor Assistant upon acceptance of a provision offer - subject to satisfactory HR Checks and completion of initial training.

There are online training courses to complete including and not limited to Mindfulness & Mindset training, safeguarding, health & safety and basic first aid. There are no training costs and no Accreditation Certificate will be issued.

MiniMe Mindfulness® sessions are:

Active. They require the Mindset Mentors to sit on the floor with the children during meditations and be active and move around, dance, stretch, demonstrate yoga postures.

Our lesson plans are extremely fun and varied.

The successful candidates;

Will have an interest and desire for positively impacting children.

Will have great energy to channel into creating or assisting fun, positive and uplifting sessions.

Have excellent communication skills - to liaise with parents, teachers and children.

Are adaptable and able to work well independently and to collaborate with a team.

Able to follow a lesson plan/instructions

Can deliver (or assist the delivery) a class with high energy and professionalism.

Punctual, polite and presentable.

Have some teaching experience (desirable, not essential)

Will have a driving licence.

*The costs of training and HR Checks are subject to change as they are influenced by direct costs from 3rd party providers.
